Round 1 Chris throws a few strikes allowing him to clinch with his opponent. Dave receieves numerous knees to the thighs from Strickland. "Fire" pushes Diekmann into the cage. Diekmann works a whizzer and attempts to turn "Fire" but "Fire" illegally grabs the cage for leverage. The referee sees it and breaks the clinch for a restart. Chris slips a cross from Dave and lands an uppercut to the liver. Dave eats a strong cross as "Fire" moves into the clinch. Chris works Dave Diekmann into the cage from the clinch. Chris presses his head under Daves chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. "Fire" maintains his dominant position in the clinch, only opening for a stiff uppercut. Chris works Dave into a corner, swimming for double underhooks. Chris presses his head into Diekmanns chest, forcing him to the ground. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 Diekmann parries Stricklands jab and lands an uppercut. Dave gets hit with a strong punch, putting him to the mat, but he recovers just in time to give up his back. "Fire" peppers Dave Diekmann with several shots to the face. Diekmann starts to wiggle out of back control, "Fire" lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Diekmann counters a jab with a stiff uppercut. "Fire" connects with a combination and backs away from the counter combo of Dave Diekmann. "Fire" lands a strong outside leg kick but is hit with a strong uppercut. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Strickland circles Dave, landing jabs at will. Dave Diekmann connects with numerous jabs to the face of Chris Strickland. The fighters circle each other. Chris ducks and weaves through a jab-cross combo but is hit with a nasty uppercut. "Fire" ducks and weaves through a jab-cross combo but is hit with a nasty uppercut. Dave Diekmann narrowly dodges a cross from "Fire", but falls catching him in his guard. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
