Round 1 Mirzaei eats a strong cross as Arturo moves into the clinch. In the clinch Diaz wraps his arm around the back of the head of "The Blood Hound" and hip tosses him over to his back with a Koshi Guruma throw. Diaz takes side control. Diaz lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Arturo slides his knee across the body of Aban Mirzaei and takes full mount. Arturo Diaz punishes "The Blood Hound" with a series of strikes from the mount. Diaz jumps out of mount and back to dominant side control. Round 1 is over.
Round 2 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Both fighters jockeying for position in the clinch. Arturo pulls Aban Mirzaei towards him and tosses him over onto his back with a beautiful Kata Guruma. Arturo falls into side control. Mirzaei takes a few knees to the body while under Arturos side control. Diaz slides his knee across the body of Aban Mirzaei and takes full mount. Mirzaei attempts to escape mount but has no luck. Aban pulls his leg out from under Arturo Diaz and gets back to half guard. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 A welt begins to form under "The Blood Hounds" eye after a strong cross-hook landed from Arturo. Mirzaei throws a crisp jab, but Arturo Diaz slips it and moves in for the clinch. Aban Mirzaei receieves numerous knees to the thighs from Arturo Diaz. In the clinch "The Blood Hound" attempts a side knee to the body but Diaz is too quick and whips his leg in front of the knee leading into an Uchi Mata Sukashi throw from brilliant momentum awareness. Diaz drops into side control. "The Blood Hound" takes a few knees to the body while under Diazs side control. Mirzaei takes a few knees to the body while under Arturos side control. Arturo lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Round 3 is over.
Round 4 Arturo connects with numerous jabs to the face of Aban Mirzaei. Aban throws a crisp jab, but Arturo slips it and moves in for the clinch. Arturo takes "The Blood Hounds" back standing. Arturo lands a couple of uppercuts from behind. "The Blood Hound" is able to work his way back around. Arturo works Aban Mirzaei into the cage from the clinch. Arturo presses his head under Aban Mirzaeis chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Arturo lands a powerful uppercut in the clinch. Diaz is caught with a standing kimura from the clinch. Aban rolls through with it landing in mount.Round 4 comes to a close.
Round 5 Aban Mirzaei throws a cross that easily dodged by Arturo Diaz. Mirzaei presses forward and is able to jump up and grab onto Arturo Diaz, aggressively pulling guard. Aban Mirzaei is caught off guard by a kneebar attempt from Arturo. Aban Mirzaei struggles out of the lock and attempts to scramble. Arturo is too quick and lunges forward to take half guard. Arturo is able to slip into mount from the half guard. Round 5 is over.
